As a church we believe that we exist not only to support and grow each other in our relationships with God, but also to serve and share God’s love with the wider community. We’re always looking for more ways to do this, both as individuals and a community. Here are just a few of the things we’re involved in at the moment:
Several people in our church partner with Friends of Refugees in Melbourne’s south east to provide bikes, as well as the skills to build and repair them, to refugees in the local area.
If you’d like to get involved, contact Ken for more information.
MBC also hosts the great big garage sale, a chance to meet some neighbours over some good old trash and treasure. These events only come around occasionally so stay tuned to our Facebook page so you don’t miss out.
Every December MBC hosts a carols by candlelight for the wider Murrumbeena Community. There is a BBQ, face-painting, games, craft and or course a choir singing all the classics. It’s a great chance for the community to come together, have fun and celebrate God moving into the neighbourhood as little baby Jesus.
The choir often also does tours around our local nursing homes.
If you’d like to be a part of the choir, contact us to let us know – all ages are welcome. If you’d just like to come along and enjoy the festivities we’ll release details on our Facebook page in the lead up to Christmas each year.
