We want to be a church that practices what we preach. Not just thinking, learning and talking about it, but out there living it in the whole of our lives.
Hospitality is one of the ways we do that.
The Bible is full of stories of a hospitable God, and of God’s message for us to be hospitable in return. We believe that hospitality is central in ‘loving our neighbour’ and that there is something sacred about sharing food together. Hopefully you’ll find hospitality in everything that we do, and also often a shared meal to enjoy as well! But we have a few regular meals where we try to intentionally live out hospitality.
Communion: a basic meal of bread and wine (or grape juice), which we have during the morning gathering on the second Sunday of every month. In this meal we remember and experience afresh the hospitality of God and the sacrifice Jesus made so that we could have a relationship with Him.
Church lunch: the potluck meal we have on the first Sunday of the month.
Hospitality Weekends: Every season, we try to get every member of the MBC community to someones home for a meal over the course of a weekend. It’s a chance to get to know different people, practice hospitality and share some delicious food! If you’re interested in coming along, contact us for details of the next weekend.
